Do not operate or work on this product unless you have read and understood the instruction and warnings in the relevant Operation and Maintenance Manuals and relevant service literature. Failure to follow the instructions or heed the warnings could result in injury or death. Proper care is your responsibility.
The following changes are adaptable to the products within the listed serial numbers, and are effective with all products after the listed serial numbers.Telephone Influence Factor (TIF) measures the effect of generator voltage harmonics on analog telephone circuits. TIF measurement is an attempt to predict the effect of generator harmonics on the POTS (Plain Old Telephone System). In the time when this measurement was developed, the telephone system was predominantly open-wired lines overhead on poles, frequently close to the power lines, also overhead on poles. Later, telephone lines were more frequently twisted-pair cables buried underground, as are the power cables, thereby reducing by several orders of magnitude the potential for interference. Furthermore, telephone lines apart from customer drops are frequently digital and carried on fiber-optic cables, either of which completely eliminates the possibility of audio-frequency interference.Current SR5 3000 Frame production generators may not meet the documented TIF levels of less than 50 as stated in TMI. The less than 50 TIF requirement is more stringent than the industry standards. Reference: NEMA MG-1and IEC 60034-1, and as defined in IEEE Std 115.
