2. Remove rocker shaft assembly (1).3. Remove the push rods. Put identification numbers on the push rods. Identification of the push rods is necessary for easy and correct installation.Install Rocker Shaft Assembly And Push Rods
1. Install the push rods.2. Put 5P3931 Anti-Seize Compound on the rocker shaft bolt threads.3. Put the rocker shaft in position on the engine and install the washers and bolts.
Dowel pins (A) on each end of the rocker shaft assembly must be in alignment with holes (B). If the pins and holes are not in alignment during installation of the rocker shaft assembly, damage to the rocker shaft assembly will be the result.
4. Tighten bolts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 in the number sequence shown to a torque of 115 lb. ft. (155 N m). Tighten the bolts again in the number sequence shown to a torque of 185 13 lb. ft. (250 17 N m). Last, tighten (hand torque only) the bolts in number sequence shown to a torque of 185 13 lb. ft. (250 17 N m). 5. Make an adjustment to the valves to get a clearance of .015 in. (0.38 mm) for the intake valves and .025 in. (0.64 mm) for the exhaust valves. Tighten twelve nuts (7) to a torque of 21 5 lb.ft. (26 7 N m).end by: a) install valve cover
