5P7380 Pilot Ring
The 5P7380 Pilot Ring is used to assemble the upper cover of the steering metering valve (pump) in its correct position. When the cover is not correctly installed, the steering wheel, which is connected to the input shaft of the steering metering valve (pump), will not turn as easily at one point as it will at another point.
The correct procedure to install the cover is as follows:
1. Put the 5P7380 Pilot Ring over the outer diameter of the cover.2. Install a hose clamp over the pilot ring and the narrow shoulder of the pump housing (see Illustration 1).

For the disassembly and assembly of the 2G135 Differential and Bevel Gear Group, use the 5P7377 and 5P7378 Step Plates, and the 5P7379 Seal Installer (see Illustrations 2 and 3). The 5P7377 Step Plate is used to pull the small bearing cone from the pinion of the differential (see Illustration 4). The 1H3107 Puller Assembly and 1H3110 Bearing Puller Attachment are used with the step plate to pull this bearing.

Illustration 5. Removal of small bearing cone on differential.The 5P7378 Step Plate is used to pull the bearing cone from the carrier. See Illustration 5. The 1P2322 Puller Assembly is used with this step plate to pull the bearing cone.
The 5P7379 Seal Installer is used to install the carbon seal in the bearing cage that installs on the drive pinion and carrier.
Make sure the surface of the carbon seal does not come in contact with the 5P7379 Seal Installer. The brittle (hard) surface of the seal can be easily damaged.
Install the carbon seal on the 5P7379 Seal Installer and use a press to install the seal in the bearing cage. (See Illustration 6.)
These same tools are also used if the machine is equipped with a NoSpin differential.
