Personal injury or death can result from sudden movement of the lift cylinders or the tilt cylinders. Do not stand under the work tool when you are testing or adjusting the lift cylinders or the tilt cylinders.Do not stand under the lift arms when you are testing or adjusting the lift cylinders or the tilt cylinders.
This procedure is used to verify a complaint about drift.

Prepare the machine for testing by completing the procedure that is specified in the Service Manual module Testing and Adjusting, "Machine Preparation for Troubleshooting" for the machine that is being serviced.

Ensure that the ball valve (manual lower) is in the CLOSED position. Note: The ball valve is located in the front frame near the articulation hitch.
Start the engine.
Move the lift cylinder in and out for five repetitions.
Fully extend the lift cylinders. Move the lift control lever to the HOLD position. Turn the engine start switch to the OFF position.
Check the distance of rod movement for the lift cylinders at the different temperatures in Table 1. Compare the distance to the values that are listed in Table 1.
Start the engine. Fully extend the lift cylinders. Move the lift control lever to the HOLD position.
Move the tilt cylinder in and out for five repetitions.
Position the work tool so that the bottom of the work tool is parallel to the ground. Move the tilt control lever to the HOLD position. Turn the engine start switch to the OFF position.
Check the distance of rod movement for the tilt cylinder at the temperatures in Table 1. Compare the distance to the values that are listed in Table 1.
Perform the isolated drift check for a specific circuit if there is excessive drift that is identified by performing this test.
