Do not perform any procedure in this publication or order any parts until you understand the information that is contained in this publication.A new remanufactured cylinder pack with a two-piece piston has been introduced.The new cylinder packs require a new piston cooling jet and a new engine oil pump.The former 0R-3757 Cylinder Pack Gp has been cancelled and replaced by the new 0R-9847 Cylinder Pack Gp . The former 0R-4281 Cylinder Pack Gp has been cancelled and replaced by the 10R-3787 Cylinder Pack Gp . All cylinders must be replaced when you are converting from the aluminum one-piece piston to the two-piece piston. The new two-piece piston cylinder packs will also require the engine oil pump and the piston cooling jets to be replaced.Install the Correct Engine Oil Pump
Install the correct engine oil pump when you are installing a new 0R-4282 Cylinder Block Gp , a new 0R-3811 Cylinder Block Gp , and a new 0R-4408 Long Cylinder Block .Due to the introduction of the new two-piece piston, the short and long blocks that were built after October 2007 that are listed below must use an engine oil pump with a higher relief valve pressure setting.

0R-4408 Long Cylinder Block The 0R-9448 Engine Oil Pump Gp must be replaced with the 0R-9449 Engine Oil Pump Gp . The 0R-9697 Oil Pump must be replaced with the 10R-0428 Oil Pump .Note: You may increase the relief valve pressure setting on your existing 480 kPa (70 psi) engine oil pump by replacing the 9Y-1800 Retainer with a new 9Y-1792 Retainer .Install the Correct Piston Cooling Jet
