Speed Timing Map Parameter
The speed timing map parameter allows the customer to select one of six timing maps. The timing maps are based on the maximum operating speed of the engine. These timing maps provide speed sensitive timing. Speed sensitive timing offers better engine performance under changes in the speed.Table 1 lists the six numbers for the maps and the corresponding maximum engine speeds. The default speed timing map is 01. Details of each timing map are given in the tables below.

06     1800 RPM    Note: The speed timing map can only be changed when the engine is stopped. An "E4" fault diagnostic will be generated on the DDT if the parameter is changed during engine operation. This fault will not cause the engine to shut down.
