Refer to the information in the following article.Some support brackets for the following tanks:236-1839, 187-6587 and 293-3399 in applications with excessive vibrations have developed cracks. The cracks can result in damage to the expansion tanks that causes leaking.Recommendations for Repair

236-1839 Expansion Tank As (1) CP01 (2) CP02 (4) CP04If small cracks are found in the support bracket, refer to Special Instruction, SEBD0512, "Caterpillar Service Welding Guide". Grind out the cracks to a width and depth of 6.35 mm (0.250 inch). Fill the void with welding material.The bracket assembly can be strengthened by welding additional steel onto the bracket.Cut all pieces to the proper size using carbon steel 10 mm (0.4 inch) thick plate. Refer to "Gusset and Plate Dimensions" for the correct dimensions of the plates. The chamfers are required where the gussets meet the heat exchanger mounting plate.
