Removal Procedure

Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Remove nut (2) and clip (1) .
Loosen bolt (7) and disconnect harness assembly (8) .
Disconnect hose assemblies (4) .
Disconnect ground strap (5) .
Remove bolts (6) and plate assembly (3) .
Remove remaining bolts (6). Remove electronic control module (9) .Installation procedure

Position electronic control module (9) on the engine and install bolts (6) .
Install plate assembly (3) and remaining bolts (6) .
Connect ground strap (5) .
Connect hose assemblies (4) .
Connect harness assembly (8) and install bolt (7). Tighten bolt (7) to a torque of 6 1 N m (53 9 lb in).
Install clip (1) and nut (2) .
