Information:
Special Notes ? EAC stock is intended to fulfill catastrophic field failures, dealer inventory needs, and fulfillment of contractual agreements.
? If local needs require that you have an engine in inventory at time of machine delivery, we suggest that the dealer place an Engine Arrangement Complete order thru the parts department at the same time the Terex O & K machine order is placed. This process will ensure delivery at the approximate same time.
? EAC part numbers are ordered through the dealer?s Caterpillar? parts ordering system / ANTARES.
? EAC 316-0037 or 316-0039 will not include the fan drive, fan adapter, belt tensioner, air-lines, alternator, alternator mounting group, Freon compressor, starter and ether starter.
? EAC 316-0037 will be built with a water-cooled center section turbo charger. This will require the technician to add an extra vent line to the cooling system when installing the EAC. The extra vent line should be an 8mm hose and be installed with a continuous upward slope to prevent air locks. The pipe should run from a connection on the turbo water return line to the expansion tank. New production O & K machines will ultimately switch to this change but as of this writing have not done so.
? If the technician wishes to compare the consist of the EAC to the original engine (as shipped from Caterpillar and installed in the machine), he or she should access TMI and compare the consist as shipped (use engine S/N) with the Engine Arrangement Complete number (EAC).
? If the technician wishes to compare the performance iron of the installed engine (Engine Arrangement Core) with the Engine Arrangement Complete number (EAC), he or she needs to compare the installed Engine Ar-Core to the Engine Ar-Core found within the EAC.
? EAC stock is intended to fulfill both field issues and dealer inventory needs, i.e., fulfillment of a contractual agreement. If local needs require you to have an engine in inventory at time of machine delivery, we suggest that you place the EAC order on Caterpillar at the time of the Terex O&K machine order. If you need the replacement engine at a certain point in time, you may consider placing a Future Dated Order (FDO) for the EAC.
? For 10R8607 and 10R8552 Remanufactured engines, the 254-3835 EAC will also be considered as an acceptable core. Consult your Core Acceptance Guide for complete details regarding core inspection criteria. Features And Benefits
