Replacement of the fumes disposal filter is affected by the following items:
Engine load
Soot concentration
Condition of the engineReplacing the Fumes Disposal Filter
Hot oil and hot components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or hot components to contact the skin.
Note: The disposal filter system is an integral air cleaner and closed crankcase ventilation with serviceable elements.

Typical installation
(1) Primary filter
(2) Air cleaner group
(3) Service indicator
(4) Sensor port
(5) Latches for the canisterNote: When possible, perform the maintenance while the engine is off.
Release the latches that hold the canister to the cap.Note: Removal of the canister may be difficult while the engine is operating. The canister has negative air pressure while the engine is operating which creates a vacuum.
Lower the canister to expose the element. There may be oil in the bottom of the canister. Avoid spilling the oil.
Remove the filter element by pulling down. Dispose of the used element properly.
Replace the canister and align the canister with the boss on the filter base assembly.
Clamp the latches in the closed position.
