Removal Procedure
Open the side panel on the right side of the machine.
Accidental machine starting can cause injury or death to personnel working on the machine.To avoid accidental machine starting, turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position and remove the key. If the machine is not equipped with a battery disconnect switch, disconnect the battery cables from the battery and tape the battery clamps.Place a do not operate tag at the battery disconnect switch location to inform personnel that the machine is being worked on.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Use the belt tensioner (not shown), in order to release the tension on the serpentine belt (not shown). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Belts - Inspect/Adjust/Replace". Remove the serpentine belt (not shown), from the alternator.

Note: Put identification marks on all wires for installation purposes.
Disconnect ground harness assembly (1), harness assembly (2) and positive harness assembly (3) .
Remove pivot bolts (4) .
Remove alternator (5) .Installation Procedure

Use pivot bolts (4) to install alternator (5) .
Install the serpentine belt (not shown), to the alternator. Use the belt tensioner (not shown) in order to apply the correct tension on the serpentine belt (not shown). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Belts - Inspect/Adjust/Replace".
Connect positive harness assembly (3), harness assembly (2), and harness assembly (1) .
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position.
Close the side panel on the right side of the machine.
