When submitting claim for Parts Stock Action, Use the appropriate 99Z as the s/n, the appropriate Service Letter Program Number as the Part number in the Part Causing Failure field, "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Description Code.
The information supplied in this service letter may not be valid after the termination date of this program.Do not perform the work outlined in this Service Letter after the termination date without first contacting your Caterpillar product analyst.

PROBLEM
The existing 7K3176 A/C Couplings in dealer parts stock inventory were manufactured by two different suppliers. Supplier A's coupling is slightly shorter in length than Supplier B's coupling. These couplings are used in the air conditioning lines group on the 789D and 789D XQ Off-Highway Trucks. All dealer parts stock inventory needs to be inspected. All of the shorter couplings, from Supplier A, need to be removed from dealer stock to prevent them from being installed in the lines group. If installed, some of the shorter couplings may not seal properly and then leak.
ACTION REQUIRED
Refer to Image1 below and inspect all 7K3176 A/C Couplings in dealer parts stock inventory.
All of the shorter couplings, with a colored cap on the one end, from Supplier A, need to be removed from dealer parts stock.
All of the longer couplings, with two clear caps, from Supplier B, need to be returned to dealer parts stock inventory.

Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
