The increase in the length of the weld will double the strength of the weld in some cases. The size of the slot will depend on the thickness of the bed liner plates. Refer to Table 1.Three options are available in order to provide wear resistance for the back one-third bed liner plates that are part of the body.

The bed liner plates for the sidewalls of the bodyThe slots that are used for plug welds in the bed liner plates for the front wall of the body are now positioned in order to align over the support columns and the horizontal ribs. This will improve the load transfer from the bed liner plates to the supports for the body.In order to improve the wear resistance at the gaps that are between the bed liner plates, notches are cut on the edges of all of the bed liner plates that cover the two-thirds of the front of the body. The side plates that are to the left of the center plate and to the right of the center plate contain notches that match the notches that are in the center plate.A liner group that contains round bar stock that is compatible with the rock box liner is available in order to provide wear resistance between the bed liner plates for the floor and the transition plates for the side of the body.A liner group that contains rectangular bars for the gutter is available for use with the Interlocking grid bed liner plates and the bed liner plates that are solid. This liner group will provide wear resistance for the bed liner plates that are the floor of the body.
