Information:

to the replacement of the ECM, ensure that replacement is necessary. The ECM is seldom the cause of a failure. Always check that power is available to all of the contacts of the ECM that are marked with "+ Battery".Procedure Note: Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "ECM Software - Install" before replacing the ECM.
Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the OFF position.
Disconnect the machine harness connectors from the ECM.
Verify that the part number of the replacement ECM is correct.
Install the replacement ECM.
Connect the machine harness to the ECM.
Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switches to the ON position.
Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "ECM Software - Install" in order to flash the software to the ECM.
