Assembly Procedure
Note: O-rings, gaskets, and seals should always be replaced. A used O-ring may not have the same sealing properties as a new O-ring. A reconditioning procedure should not be degraded because of a low cost component such as an O-ring or a gasket. Use 1U-6396 O-Ring Assembly Compound during the assembly procedure.

Install O-ring seal (18) and plunger (19) to each sleeve (17) .
Install each sleeve (17) through the bracket. Attach nut (16) to each sleeve (17) .

Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury.To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.
Attach retainer (14) to valve stem (15) .
Attach the following components to valve stem (15) : spring (13), spring (9), retainer (10), spacer (12) and retainer (11). These components are assembled as two valve assemblies (7) .

Install springs (8) and install two valve assemblies (7) in the steering pilot valve.

Attach two plungers (5) and bracket (6) to steering pilot valve (2) .

Install lever (4). Drive pin (3) into lever (4) .

Attach rubber boot (1) to steering pilot valve (2) .End By: Install the steering pilot valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Pilot Valve (Steering) - Install" in this module.
