Sudden movement of the machine or release of oil under pressure can cause injury to persons on or near the machine. In order to prevent possible injury, perform the procedure that follows before testing, adjusting or working on any hydraulic components.
a. Move the machine to a smooth, hard and dry horizontal surface. Move away from working machines and personnel. Lower the blade or attachment to the ground. Stop the machine.b. Permit only one operator on the machine. Keep all other personnel either away from the machine or in view of the operator.c. Engage the parking brake. Put blocks in front of and behind the wheels.d. Push the brake pedal many times until there is no more brake oil pressure.e. When the blade or attachment is raised for test, adjustments or maintenance, make sure that the blade or attachment has proper support. The lift circuit has high oil pressure when the lift arms raise the front of the machine. Do not stop the engine with the front of the machine off of the ground, unless a system test requires it. Lower the front of the machine to the ground and stop the engine.f. Install the steering frame lock link so the machine can not turn.g. Move the hydraulic control levers to all positions in order to release the pressure in the hydraulic system. Place the tilt control in the FLOAT position. Place the lift control in the HOLD position.h. Carefully loosen the fill cap on the hydraulic tank in order to release the pressure in the tank.j. Make sure that all hydraulic pressure is released before any fitting, hose or component is loosened, tightened, removed or adjusted.k. Tighten the fill cap on the hydraulic tank.2. Drain the oil from the hydraulic tank in a suitable container. The capacity of the hydraulic oil tank is 125 liters (33 U.S. gal).3. Drain the oil from the transmission in a suitable container. The capacity of the transmission oil is 62 liters (16.4 U.S. gal). 4. Disconnect hose assembly (1) from brake pump (2).5. Disconnect inlet tube (3) from the brake pump.6. Disconnect transmission pressure inlet hose (4) and lube hose (5).7. Disconnect transmission inlet tube (6). 8. Support the transmission oil pump with a hoist as shown. Remove two bolts (7) that connect the transmission oil pump to the steering pump. 9. Support the transmission oil pump from steering pump (8). Remove coupler (9) from steering pump (8). The combined weight of the brake and transmission oil pump is 22.7 kg (50 lb). 10. Remove two bolts (10) that fasten the brake pump to the transmission oil pump. 11. Separate brake pump (11) and coupling (12) from the transmission oil pump. The following steps are for the installation of the transmission oil pump.12. Check the condition of the O-ring seals used in hose and tube assemblies that are connected to the transmission oil pump
