Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Apply clean engine oil to the internal parts of the fuel priming pump.

Install a new O-ring seal (8) in the groove in pump cylinder (3).

Install rotor (6) in pump cylinder (3). The drive grooves must be facing upward.

Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury.To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.
Install vanes (7) and the springs into rotor (6).

Use Tooling (A) in order to install lip seal (5) in head (2). Install lip seal (5) with the lip toward the inside of the fuel priming pump.

Install shaft (4) through the lip seal in head (2).
Illustration 6 g01290023Note: The rotor is held in the center of the pump cylinder. The shaft in the head is off-center . Ensure that the pin in the shaft engages with one of the drive grooves in the rotor.Note: Ensure that the alignment marks match.
Install head (2) on pump cylinder (3).

Install handle (1).
Turn handle (1). The fuel priming pump must rotate freely when the fuel priming pump is rotated by hand. End By:
Install the fuel priming pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fuel Priming Pump - Install".
