Removal Procedure
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

If necessary, remove hose assembly and relocate the hose.
Remove nuts (1) that secure bus bar (2) to glow plugs (3).
Remove bus bar (2) from glow plugs (3).
Remove four glow plugs (3).

Remove seal (4) from glow plugs (3). Installation Procedure
Illustration 5 g03336676Note: Most likely the seal (4) will remain in the valve mechanism cover (5) after removing the glow plug (3). Installing glow plug (3) without seal (4) installed on the glow plug (3) will cause seal to be pushed into the valve mechanism cover (5). When installing glow plug (3), install with seal (4) on the glow plug (3).
Install glow plugs (4) in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten the glow plugs (1) to a torque of 8 to 9 N m (71 to 80 lb in). Note: Ensure that the threads of the glow plugs are clean and free from damage. Replace any damaged glow plugs.
Tighten the nut (2) on glow plug (1) and bus bar (3) to a torque of 1 to 2 N m (9 to 18 lb in).
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position.
