(4) Adjustment knob Note: The adjustable relief valve in screed counterbalance solenoid valve (3) controls the hydraulic pressure for the counterbalance system. The counterbalance valve may be adjusted to a range of 170 to 1035 kPa (25 to 150 psi) (depending on the condition of the mat).
Press test button (2) and hold the test button. Observe the reading on pressure gauge (1). The pressure should have a range of 170 to 1035 kPa (25 to 150 psi). Release the test button. Note: Press test button (2) and hold the test button. When the adjustment knob (4) is turned counterclockwise to the minimum setting, the rod end pressure on gauge (1) should be 170 kPa (25 psi). When the adjustment knob (4) is turned clockwise to the maximum setting, the rod end pressure on gauge (1) should be 2760 kPa (400 psi). Release the test button.
If problems with the mat are caused by settling of the screed, turn the adjustment knob clockwise in order to increase the pressure in increments of 70 kPa (10 psi). After each increment of adjustment, check the mat for desired results. Note: If rod end pressure of the screed cylinder is increased above 1035 kPa (150 psi), mat density may be affected.
