ROAD RECLAIMER,
Compatible equipment models: 0772820:
Information:
Effective July 1, 1992 regulations prohibit the venting of any refrigerant in the atmosphere. Refer to Caterpillar publication SENR3334, SENR5664 and NEDG5065 for the proper procedure, equipment and tools to reclaim refrigerant from any Caterpillar machine.
Always wear goggles when working on air conditioning systems. The system is under pressure at all times, engine running or not. Escaping refrigerant R-12 (C C12F2Dichloro Difluoro Methane) and refrigerant R-134A can cause freezing of human flesh. Do not smoke while working on air conditioning system. Inhaling Refrigerant R-12 or R-134A through any smoking material, although not toxic or flammable, can cause violent illness. Also heat must never be applied to a charged system. Refer to the Air Conditioning And Heating Service Manual Form No. SENR3334 and SENR5664, for more information on removal and installation of lines and refrigerant from the system.
1. Remove the refrigerant from the air conditioning system using a refrigerant reclaimer. 2. Put identification marks on hose assemblies (1) and (2) for installation purposes. Disconnect the hoses from the air conditioner compressor. Plug the fittings in order to keep dirt out of the system. 3. Put identification marks on wire assemblies (3) and (4) for installation purposes. Disconnect the wire assemblies from the air conditioner compressor. 4. Remove bolt (6), the nut assembly and the washer from adjustment bracket (7). Remove V-belt (5) from the air conditioner compressor drive pulley. 5. Remove bolt (8) and the nut from the mounting bracket. Remove the air conditioner compressor from the machine.Install Air Conditioner Compressor
1. Make sure that all components of the air conditioner compressor and mating components are clean prior to installing the air conditioner compressor. During the installation of the air conditioner compressor, check the condition of all O-ring seals used in the hose assemblies that were disconnected. If any of the seals are damaged, use new parts for replacement. 2. Position the air conditioner compressor to its original location in the machine. Install bolt (8) and the nut in order to secure the air conditioner compressor to the mounting bracket. 3. Position the air conditioner compressor to adjustment bracket (7).4. Install bolt (6), the nut assembly and washer in order to secure the air conditioner compressor to adjustment bracket (7).5. Install V-belt (5) to the air conditioner compressor drive pulley. Refer to the "Operation & Maintenance Manual" for the proper procedure in order to adjust the V-belt tension. 6. Connect wire assemblies (3) and (4) to their original locations on the air conditioner compressor group. 7. Connect hose assemblies (1) and (2) to their original locations on the air conditioner compressor.8. Fill the air conditioning system with refrigerant to the correct pressure level. Refer to SENR3334, SENR5664 and NEDG5065 for the proper filling procedure.
