Assembly Procedure
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, thoroughly clean all parts in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Do not use wiping cloths or rags to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement. Dirt and other contaminants can damage the precision component. Perform assembly procedures on a clean work surface. Keep components covered and protected at all times.Note: Check the O-ring seals for wear or for damage. Replace the components, if necessary.

Install O-ring seal (21), O-ring seal (20), and O-ring seals (19) onto solenoid valve (16) .

Position solenoid valve (16) to valve body (2). Install retainer (17) with the stamping UP showing. Install bolt (18). Tighten bolt (18) to a torque of 30 5 N m (22 4 lb ft).

Install O-ring seals (15) and the backer rings onto valve assembly (14). Install valve assembly (14) to valve body (2). Tighten valve assembly (14) to a torque of 32 3 N m (23 2 lb ft).

Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury.To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.
Install piston (13), spacer (10), spring (9), pin (12), and spring (11) to valve body (4). Install plug (8) and the O-ring seal to valve body (4). Tighten plug (8) to a torque of 37 7 N m (27 5 lb ft).
Repeat Step 4 for the other valve assembly.

Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury.To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.
Install spool (5) and spring (6) to valve assembly (4). Install plug (7) and the O-ring seal to valve body (4). Tighten plug (7) to a torque of 25 5 N m (18 4 lb ft).
Repeat Step 6 for the other two valve assemblies.

Position O-ring seal (3) to valve body (4). Position valve body (1) to valve body (4). Install the washers and bolts (1). Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 12 3 N m (106 27 lb in).End By: Install the control valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Control Valve (Transmission Clutch Latching - Install".
