Removal Procedure
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Typical example
Remove canister (10). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Crankcase Breather (Canister) - Replace".
Release spring clamps (8) and remove hose (9).
Release spring clamps (2) in order to remove hose (3). Remove the hose from breather tube (1) and from filter base (5).
Remove bolts (6) and remove filter base (5).
If necessary, remove bolts (7) and remove bracket (4) from cylinder head.

Remove O-ring seal (13) from breather tube (1). Disassembly Procedure

Remove plastic cover (14) from valve mechanism cover (11).
Remove screws (15). Remove plate (16).

Ensure that all components of the crankcase breather are clean and free from damage. Replace any components that are damaged.
Install spring (19). Install assembly of diaphragm (17) and cap (18).
Position plate (16) on valve mechanism cover (11) and install screws (15).
Use Tooling (A) to tighten screws (15) to a torque of 1.3 N m (12 lb in).
Install plastic cover (14) to valve mechanism cover (11). Installation Procedure

Install a new O-ring seal (13) to breather tube (1).
Install breather tube (1) to valve mechanism cover (11). Install bolt (12) and tighten the bolt to a torque of 9 N m (80 lb in).

Typical example
If necessary, install bracket (4). Position bracket (4) onto cylinder head and install bolts (7). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 22 N m (16 lb ft).
Install bolts (6) to filter base (5).
Install the assembly of the filter base to the engine.
Tighten bolts (6) to a torque of 22 N m (16 lb ft).
Install spring clamps (2) to hose (3). Install hose (3) to connection (1) on the valve mechanism cover and to filter base (4). Note: Ensure that the spring clamps are correctly positioned in order to secure the hose.
Install spring clamp (8) to hose (9). I
