Adaptable To: The new 6I-4957 Jacket Water Inlet Temperature Regulator is effective with 3606 (8RB552), 3608 (6MC458), 3612 (9RC171), and 3616 (1PD213). Any engine equipped with the 6I-4957 Jacket Water Inlet Temperature Regulator should have the jacket water outlet alarm temperature setting at 100 2°C (212 4°F).--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------Description of Change: A new jacket water inlet temperature regulator is used. The new regulator has a nominal setting of 90°C (194°F), while the former regulator has a nominal setting of 85°C (185°F). This change is reburied to achieve the desired 10°C (18°F) difference between the oil and the jacket water temperature. When a new temperature regulator is installed, the jacket water outlet temperature alarm setting and the jacket water outlet temperature shutdown setting must also be changed. Set the jacket water outlet temperature alarm setting to 100 2°C (212 4°F). Set the jacket water outlet temperature shutdown to 106 2°C (223 4°F). The former settings were 98 2°C (208 4°F) and 104 2°C (219 4°F).
Adaptable To: The new 120-9453 Jacket Water Inlet Temperature Regulator is effective with 3606 (8RB552), 3608 (6MC458), 3612 (9RC171), and 3616 (1PD213). Any engine equipped with the 120-9453 Jacket Water Inlet Temperature Regulator should have the jacket water outlet alarm temperature setting at 100 2°C (212 4°F).
