(1) The floating Duo-Cone seal and all surfaces in contact with them must be clean and dry at assembly. Apply a thin layer of oil on the surfaces that make contact on the metal seals prior to assembly. Seal rings must be assembled square with the bore and toric must not be bulged or twisted(2) Bearings. Apply SAE 30 CD oil to bearings and all mating surfaces prior to assembly.(3) Nut. Apply 9S3263 Thread lock to threads and contacting surfaces of nut (3) prior to assembly.(4) Apply 9S3263 Thread lock on threads of 20 cover bolts.(5) Oil check and fill plug.(6) Brake springs. These are the parking brake springs. Apply SAE 30 CD oil to the brake springs prior to assembly.(7) Parking brake. This is the spring applied and hydraulically released multiple disc parking brake. Apply SAE 30 CD oil to the contacting surfaces of the brake discs prior to assembly. Brake release pressure ... 1280 kPa (186 psi)(8) and (10) Brake release piston seals. These are the park brake release piston seals. Apply SAE 30 CD oil to the contacting surfaces of the release piston seals. Install the back-up rings and then the O-ring seals prior to assembly.(9) Final drive drain plug.
