Installation Instructions
Check valves in the hydraulicsystem may allow pressure to exist in the hydraulic lines after the enginehas been stopped. Pressure must be relieved prior to servicing the componentsof the hydraulic system. Failure to relieve pressure prior to servicingmay result in personal injury.
Care must be taken to ensure thatfluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing,adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid withsuitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling anycomponent containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "CaterpillarTools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collectand contain fluids on Caterpillar Products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulationsand mandates.
Disconnect the connecting lines from the hostmachine.
Equalize the pressure in the connecting linesby coupling the quick disconnect fittings. Then uncouple the fittings.
Disconnect the 1690867 Hose Assembly (A) fromPort "T" of the 1729232 Diverter Valve (B). See Illustration 1.
Pre-assemble the check valve assembly by assemblingthe 7I8310 Fitting (1), the 1688561 Check Valve (2), and the two 6V8946Fittings (3). Install one 6V9746 O-ring Seal (5) between the connectionof the 7I8310 Fitting (1) and the 6V8946 Fitting (3). See Illustration2.
Note: When assembling the components for thecheck valve assembly, make sure that the arrow embossed on the check valvepoints away from the 7I8310 Fitting (1), as shown in Illustration2.
Install the check valve assembly to Port "T" ofthe 1729232 Diverter Valve (B) as shown in Illustration 3. Use a new 3D2824O-ring Seal (4) for this connection.
Connect the 1690867 Hose As. (A) to the checkvalve assembly. Use a new 6V9746 O-ring Seal (5) for this connection.
