AllThe color of certain Caterpillar O-Ring Seals will change in late 2002. Currently, the material for our 75 Duro Fluoroelatomer (FKM) is brown, and the material for our 90 Duro FKM is green. In the future, both materials will change to black due to the change in additives in these materials.The part numbers of these seals will not change. The properties of the seals will not change. During the transition to the new materials for the seals, you may receive orders that contain the former color and the new color. The former seals and the new seals are completely interchangeable. Over the next 18 months, all Caterpillar 75 Duro FKM and 90 Duro FKM O-ring seals will migrate to the new materials which are black in color. The new FKM materials will be used first with the following part numbers:
