Problem
The installation sleeve may not be present, or the installation sleeve may have become separated from the seal on individual 7C1813 Crankshaft Seal Groups and on 7C1813 Crankshaft Seal Group in 7X7973 Front Structure Gasket Kits.
Action Required
Inspect all individual 7C1813 Crankshaft Seal Groups and all 7C1813 Crankshaft Seal Groups in 7X7973 Front Structure Gasket Kits that are in parts stock. If the installation sleeve is not present or if it has become separated from the seal group, remove the seal or gasket kit which contains the seal from parts stock.
Service Claim Allowances
Submit one claim for all 7C1813 Crankshaft Seal Groups and 7X7973 Front Structure Gasket Kits removed from parts stock.
Parts Disposition
Any parts removed (with the exception of cores used for Caterpillar Remanufactured parts) can be rendered useless and scrapped immediately upon completion of the repair.
