At operating temperature, the hydraulic oil is hot and under pressure. Hot oils can cause burns.To prevent possible personal injury, release the pressure in the work tool hydraulic circuit (boom, stick, bucket, and swing), travel circuits, and the hydraulic oil tank at the filler cap before any hydraulic lines or components are disconnected or removed.Remove the filler cap only when the engine is stopped and the filler cap is cool enough to touch.
Drain the rear differential oil into a suitable container for storage or disposal.

Disconnect hose assemblies (1).

Remove drain plug (2) and drain the oil from the transmission into a suitable container for storage or disposal.

Disconnect harness assembly (3).

Install Tooling (A).
Remove bolts (4). Remove transmission (5). The weight of transmission (5) is approximately 141 kg (310 lb). Installation Procedure

Connect harness assembly (3).

Install drain plug (2). Remove the filler plug and fill the transmission with oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Lubrication Viscosities and Refill Capacities". Install the filler plug.
