BLADE-SAW 2544683 - Caterpillar

Low oil level can cause serious damage to 963 and 973 Transmissions.
To prevent overflow, you can change the 3G9683 Cover Assembly into the FT1611 Hydrostatic Transmission Test Cover. The test cover has a boss to install a 6V2070 Underspeed Contact Tool.
To fabricate the test cover, remove part of the top of the 3G9683 Cover Assembly. See Illustration 1.
The FT1611 Test Cover will fit all hydrostatic transmissions, but is not needed for 943 or 953 Loaders because the oil level is lower. A 6V4056 Adapter Bracket is more easily used to put the 6V2070 Underspeed Contact Tool in position on the transmission for 943 and 953 Loaders.
