INSTALLATION: To install the new spacers and washers with earlier guard plate assemblies, the mounting bolt holes must be cut larger. The new holes are round, with a diameter of 30 mm (1.2"). During installation, assemble the 9P8856 Washer on the S1595 Bolt first (next to the bolt head), then the 7N2597 Spacer. When the bolt is installed, the spacer must fit through the hole in the plate assembly, so the bolt tightens against the washer and spacer. The clearance around the spacer will let the plate assembly move a small amount.
If desired, the 9P8856 Washers can be fabricated from high strength structural steel 5 mm (.2") thick. The hole diameter is 13.8 mm (.54"), and the outside diameter is 40.0 0.8 mm (1.58 .03").
