CHARGE AND MAIN RELIEF VALVE (Shuttle valve in forward drive position)
2. Main pressure relief valve. 5. Ball. 6. Piston. 12. Check valve. 15. Inlet for charge pressure. 16. Inlet for charge oil supply. 17. Outlet for charge oil supply to charge valve for right track motor. 18. Shuttle spool. 19. Outlet to cooler. 20. Inlet for high pressure supply line. 21. Inlet for low pressure supply line. 22. Outlet to cooler. 23. Inlet for high pressure supply line. 24. Outlet for low pressure supply line. The track synchronizing system makes it possible for a small flow of oil to go between the two charge and relief valves. This insures that the pressure and flow to the track motors will be equal under most conditions. This means that the tractor will move straight ahead when motion occurs. This arrangement could cause a problem whenever the vehicle started to turn. This is because the pressure to the inside track is always less than to the outside track during a turn. To prevent this from happening, the synch valve closes the flow path whenever the pressure from either of the motors becomes higher than 8280 kPa (1200 psi). The shut-off valve makes it possible to manually cut the circuit off during periods of adjustment or troubleshooting.
TRACK SYNCHRONIZING SYSTEM
25. Left side charge and relief valve. 26. Synch cut-off valve. 27. Synch valve. 28. Right side charge and relief valve.Brake Control Group
The purpose of the brake control group is to allow for the release of the brakes whenever the engine is not running and can not be started and it is necessary to move the machine. It also makes it possible to test the operation of the transmission with the machine not moving. Remember that it is impossible to drive (or tow) the machine when the brakes are applied.
SCHEMATIC OF BRAKE SYSTEM
1. Hand pump. 2. Hand pump assembly. 3. U-TUBE. 4. Dump valve. 5. Brake instruction panel. When the U-TUBE is in the RUN position, the vehicle can be operated. Pressure oil from the main control valve on the transmission is sent through the U-TUBE to release the brakes and allow the machine to move. As can be seen on the schematic, if the U-TUBE is changed to the TEST position, the pressure oil from the main control valve is blocked. This means that there will be no pressure sent to the brake and they will continue to be applied.
BRAKE INSTRUCTION PANEL
CROSS-SECTION OF HAND PUMP ASSEMBLYWhen the U-TUBE is changed to the BLEEDTOW position, oil can be pumped from the transmission with hand pump (1). This will release the brakes and the vehicle can be towed. The hand pump assembly is located in the operator's compartment and contains a dump valve (4) which is used to release the oil pressure in the system whenever the hand pump is used. The hand pump assembly is also used to manually bleed the air out of the brake system. See the procedure for manually removing air from the system in the
