Drain the hydraulic oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedure.

Position the lift arms on Tooling (A) as shown.

Disconnect tube assemblies (1) that are connected to the lift cylinder that is being removed. Disconnect hose assemblies (3) at the base of the cylinder. Disconnect hose assemblies (3) and tube assemblies (1) from bracket (2) . Remove bracket (2) .

Place suitable cribbing underneath lift cylinder (5) . Use Tooling (A) in order to remove pin assembly (4) .

Remove bolt (6) from pin assembly (7) .

Attach a suitable lifting device to lift cylinder (5) . The weight of lift cylinder (5) is approximately 250 kg (550 lb).
Use Tooling (A) in order to remove pin assembly (7) .

Cylinders equipped with lock valves can remain pressurized for very long periods of time, even with the hoses removed.Failure to relieve pressure before removing a lock valve or disassembling a cylinder can result in personal injury or death.Ensure all pressure is relieved before removing a lock valve or disassembling a cylinder.

Lubricate the face and threads of nut (1) before assembly. Install nut (1) to the following torque 6300 630 N m (4647 465lb ft).
Lubricate the threads of cap assembly (2) with clean grease before assembly. Tighten cap assembly (2) to the following torque 600 130 N m (443 96lb ft).
Use Tooling (E) in order to install bearing (3) to a depth of 10.0 0.3 mm (0.39 0.01 inch).
Lightly lubricate the sealing lips of seals (4) and (5) with the lubricant that is being sealed.
Apply Tooling (F) to the groove of wiper seal (6) prior to assembly. Lightly lubricate the sealing lip of wiper seal (6) with the lubricant being seal.Installation Procedure
Install lift cylinder (5) in the reverse order of removal.
