Remove Steering Relief Valve
1. Drain the oil from the steering system hydraulic tank.
Make sure the hydraulic pressure in the steering system is released before any lines are disconnected.
2. Disconnect hose assemblies (2) and (4) from the bottom of the steering relief valve. Disconnect hose assemblies (1) and (3) from the top of the valve. Put identification on the hose assemblies so they will not be mixed at assembly. 3. Remove bolts and nuts (6). Remove steering relief valve (5).Install Steering Relief Valve
1. Put steering relief valve (1) in position on the frame. Install the bolts and nuts that hold it. 2. Connect two hose assemblies (2) to the top of the valve.3. Connect two hose assemblies (3) to the bottom of the valve.4. Fill the steering system hydraulic tank with oil to the correct level. start by:a) remove steering relief valve 1. Remove plugs (1) and (2) from the steering relief valve body. 2. Remove O-ring seal (3) from each plug. Remove valve (5), spring (4) and shims (6) from each plug. 3. Remove two seats (7) from the body. Remove O-ring seal (8) from each seat.4. Be sure all parts are clean and free of foreign material. Check the condition of all O-ring seals and make replacements if necessary.5. Install O-ring seal (8) on each seat (7). Put SAE 30 oil on the O-ring seal and the seat bores in the valve body. Install the seats in the body with the smaller hole in the seat toward the outside of the valve.6. Install an O-ring seal on plugs (1) and (2). Install shims (6), spring (4) and valve (5) in each plug.7. Install plugs (1) and (2) in the steering relief valve.
