To prevent personal injury, be sure all personnel are clear of the machine. Sound the horn for several seconds before starting the engine.
Keep engine speed low until the engine oil pressure registers on the gauge or the engine oil pressure indicator light goes out. If it does not register or the light does not go out within ten seconds, stop the engine and investigate the cause before starting again. Failure to do so, can cause engine damage.

Open the access door on the right side of the machine. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position.

The following conditions must be met in order to start the machine.
Push down parking brake knob (1) in order to apply the parking brake.
Move propel control lever (2) to the STOP position.
Move vibration switch (3) to the OFF position.
Move water spray switch (4) to the OFF position.

Move throttle control switch (5) to the FAST position.
In order to crank the engine, turn key (6) to the START position. When the engine starts, release the key.
Push throttle control switch (5) to the SLOW position after you start the engine.
