Component Code 1062SUBJECT: Spark Arrestor Muffler Failure
PROBLEM:
The 2C-9500 Spark Arrestor Muffler is cracking where the inlet pipe and the muffler base join.
SOLUTION:
In order to improve the service life of the spark arrestor muffler, a bracket must be fabricated and installed. The fabricated bracket assembly bolts on to the two boltholes at the rear side face of the cylinder head and to the muffler under the suction inlet casting.
A drawing for the fabrication of the support bracket is available within the dealer accessible APD CIM system, under CIM#SPBK-4EV35P.
