Information:

SMCS Code: 7000Be sure that no one is working on or near the machine to prevent injury. Keep the machine under control at all times to prevent injury.Reduce engine speed when manoeuvring in tight quarters or when breaking over a rise.Select the gear speed necessary before starting downgrade. Do not change gears while going downhill.A good practice is to use the same gear speed going downgrade as would be used going up the grade.Do not allow the engine to overspeed going downhill. Use the service brake pedal to reduce engine overspeed going downhill. When the load will be pushing the machine, put the transmission selector lever in FIRST speed before starting downhill.1. Adjust the operator's seat.2. Fasten the seat belt.3. Raise the bucket to the carry position, approximately 40 cm (15 in) above the ground. 4. Push down on the service brake pedal to keep the machine from moving.5. Move the parking brake control knob to the released position. If the machine was started with the parking brake switch in the released position, the operator must first reset the switch by moving it to the applied position before the brakes will release. 6. On STIC steer machines, move transmission lock lever (1) to the unlocked position. Move transmission directional control switch (2) to the desired travel direction. Activate the upshift or downshift control button to select the desired speed. 7. On wheel steer machines, release transmission neutral lock (3). Move transmission control lever (4) to the desired travel direction. Rotate the control to select the desired speed.8. Release the service brake pedal.9. Push down on the accelerator pedal to the desired engine and vehicle speed.
The power train is designed to allow powered direction changes without stopping the machine. Reducing speed before making directional changes is recommended and will enhance operator safety and avoid unnecessary drive train stress.
Parking Brake System
SMCS Code: 7000
Personal injury could result from the sudden stop of the machine. The parking brake is automatically engaged when brake oil pressure drops below an adequate operating pressure. If the brake system oil pressure drops below normal operating pressure, the action alarm will sound. The low brake oil pressure indicator and the fault light will start flashing. If the pressure drops further, the parking brake will engage automatically, the parking brake indicator on the operator's panel will come on and the transmission will shift to neutral.Be prepared for a sudden stop. Correct the reason for the loss of brake oil pressure. Do not move the machine without normal brake oil pressure.
Loss of brake oil pressure will cause the action alarm to sound and low brake oil pressure indicator (1) on the operator's panel to flash. Further loss of oil pressure will cause parking brake indicator (2) to come on and the parking brake will automatically engage to stop the machine. The fault light (3) will also flash when the monitoring system lights flash.
Moving the machine with the parking brake engaged can cause excessive wear or damage to the brake. If necessary, have
