Information:

Check the Integrity of the Rubber and Steel Plates
You should do a visual inspection of the mounts in order to detect signs of cracking in the rubber or failure of the bond between the rubber and the steel plates. Use the following information in order to inspect the mounts. A chart is provided at the end of this article for recording information about each mount. Use a steel rule to measure the wear or the damage.
Illustration 3 g01133250
(1) Steel Plate (2) RubberTo inspect the mounts, use a suitable lifting device under the equalizer arm. Raise the arm until the mount that is being inspected is fully extended.Measure the depth of all cracks from the edge of the steel plates (1) toward the center of the mount.A crack can be a split in rubber (2) or a failure of the bond between the rubber and steel plate (1) .Major damage is defined as a crack that extends over 25 % of the circumference of the mount. The crack will also have a maximum depth in excess of dimension (X). Refer to Table 1, Illustration 4, Illustration 5 and Illustration 6.
Table 1
Mount    Dimension (X)
140-1289 Mount (1)
35 mm (1.38 inch)
138-9224 Mount (2)
40 mm (1.58 inch)
( 1 ) D250E, D300E, D250E Series II, D300E Series II, 725 and 730
( 2 ) D350 Series II, D400E Series II, D400E Ejector Series II, 735, 740 and 740 EJECTORThe mounts are serviceable if the crack is present in less than 25% of rubber regardless of the depth of the crack. The mount should not be used if either of the following conditions occur:
Any of steel plates (1) are cracked.
Major damage is present in more than three sections of rubber (2) and the depth of the crack is consistently greater than dimension (X) .Use the chart that is given at the end of this article in order to record the condition of the mounts at each inspection. The following Illustrations give examples for inspection of the mounts.
Illustration 4 g01133254
This is an example of major damage. The length of the crack is greater than 25% of the circumference and the maximum depth of the crack is greater than dimension (X) over a consistent portion of the crack. For Dimension (X), refer to Table 1.
Illustration 5 g00892224
This is an example of damage that is not major. The length of the crack is greater than 25% of the circumference but the maximum depth of the crack is less than Dimension (X). For Dimension (X), refer to Table 1.
Illustration 6 g00892227
This is an example of damage that is not major. The length of the crack is less than 25% of the circumference even though the maximum depth of the crack is greater than Dimension (X). For Dimension (X), refer to Table 1.Check the Integrity of the Center Bolt
To inspect the mounts, use a suitable lifting device under the equalizer arm. Raise the arm until the mount that is being inspected is fully extended.
