278-7109 Cover (1) (A) Location of drilled holesNote: For steel mill applications, do not install the 278-7109 Cover .To modify the 134-6724 Wiring Enclosure Gp, perform the following procedures.
Drill a 12.7 mm (0.5 inch) drain hole. The hole should be drilled in the rear inside corner on the bottom of the enclosure for the electronics.
Install the 278-7109 Cover (1). Tack Weld the cover or bolt the cover onto the rear inside corner of the electronics bay in order to prevent water and material from entering through the drilled hole. If the cover is bolted, drill two 12 mm (0.472 inch) holes in the side walls and install two 8T-4139 Bolts, two 8T-4244 Nut and four 8T-4223 Hard Washer .In order to eliminate corrosion in the electronics bay, perform the following steps. This will also prevent any future corrosion in the electronics bay.

Apply 4C-4200 Paint (HIGH GLOSS YELLOW) in order to stop corrosion on the terminals and corrosion on other components within the electronics bay.

Apply 4C-4200 Paint to marked locations (B). Do not apply paint in location (C). The main relay terminals need to be painted. The starter relay terminals need to be painted. The terminals for the circuit breaker need to be painted.

The relays (D) should not be painted.

The black cover is the fuse holder. The fuse terminals that are located under the holder (E) should be painted.Note: Machines that are working in coal applications may experience rust on the electrical connectors. Apply dielectric grease to the electrical connectors. Do not apply the grease to the pins and the sockets that are located in the electrical connectors.
