Replace the failed control panel with a new 163-6701 Control Panel. Install a new 238-2226 Wiring Harness if a new control panel is installed.Surge Suppressor For The Solenoid In The Quick Coupler Valve
The source of the electrical power surge that causes failure of the integrated circuit board in the control panel is from the activation of the solenoid valve for the quick coupler. On certain Excavators, the activation of the refrigerant compressor for the air conditioner can cause an electrical power surge. Use the procedures that follow in order to protect the integrated circuit board in the control panel from an electrical power surge.A method for the prevention of an electrical power surge is the replacement of the solenoid valve group and manifold.
Remove the former 152-8346 Solenoid Valve Gp and the 8T-8806 Manifold from the quick coupler valve in the front lines group.

Install a new 247-6295 Control Manifold Gp. The new valve group consists of a new 244-8685 Solenoid Valve Gp and a new 252-4735 Manifold. Install the new valve group in place of the former solenoid valve gp and the former manifold. Refer to Illustration 8 and Illustration 9.Another method for the prevention of an electrical power surge is the addition of a new wiring harness assembly. If a new 247-6295 Control Manifold Gp is not installed, install a new 238-2226 Wiring Harness between the vehicle wiring harness and the solenoid harness for the quick coupler valve.

Disconnect harness (G) from harness (H). Refer to Illustration 10 and Illustration 11.
Install harness (1) between harness (G) and harness (H) .
Use 3S-2093 Cable Straps in order to secure the harness assemblies.Surge Suppressor For The Refrigerant Compressor
A wiring harness with a surge suppressor has been installed on certain Excavators. Refer to the Service Magazine article that is listed in this article. Refer to Table 1 for a list of refrigerant compressors.
