Remove the upper housing. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Housing (Upper) - Remove".
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before operating any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.After collecting all fluids in suitable containers, dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Remove bolts (1) .
Attach Tooling (A) to mounting ring (2). Attach a suitable lifting device to Tooling (A). The weight of mounting ring (2) is approximately 66 kg (146 lb). Remove mounting ring (2) .

Remove seal (3) from mounting ring (2) .

Remove bolts (4) .

Attach a suitable lifting device and Tooling (A) to the gear and bearing (5). The weight of the gear and bearing (5) is approximately 108 kg (239 lb). Remove the gear and bearing (5) .Installation Procedure

Attach a suitable lifting and Tooling (A) to the gear and bearing (5). The weight of the gear and bearing (5) is approximately 108 kg (239 lb). Install the gear and bearing (5) .

Apply Tooling (B) to bolts (4). Install bolts (4). Tighten bolts (4) to a torque of 270 40 N m (199 30 lb ft).

Install seal (3) onto mounting ring (2) .

Attach Tooling (A) to mounting ring (2). Attach a suitable lifting device to Tooling (A). The weight of mounting ring (2) is approximately 66 kg (146 lb). Install mounting ring (2) .
Apply Tooling (B) to bolts (1). Install bolts (1). Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 270 40 N m (199 30 lb ft).End By: Install the upper housing. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Housing (Upper) - Install".
