The hydraulic swivel joint and the small swivel joint at the top is the rotary connection for the hydraulic system in the upper structure. The respective circuits are in the undercarriage.The small swivel joint for the creeper speed, the brakes, the transmission shift, and the oscillating axle control is the low-pressure portion of the swivel.The main swivel joint is for the stabilizer, the blade, the travel, and the steering circuits. The large portion of the swivel is for high pressure.

Rotor (6) is fixed to the undercarriage at the turning center of the upper structure. Main housing (5) rotates around rotor (6). Six high pressure, six low pressure, and two return oil circuits are transmitted from the upper structure to the undercarriage through passages in housing (5), rotor (6), and connector (7) .The passages in housing (5) are connected to the ports of rotor (6). The passages in housing (5) and the ports in rotor (6) are separated by rotary seals. In Illustration 3, the blade is being raised.

An optional electric rotating switch can be installed on top of the housing in order to transmit electrical signals to the individual circuits for four-point or two-point stabilizers at either the rear or the front of the machine. The electric swivel conducts current from the upper structure of the excavator to the lower structure. This current is used in order to energize the solenoid valves that control the individual stabilizers.
