Implement Lockout Solenoid connectionsThis diagnostic code is associated with the Implement Lockout Solenoid. The FMI 06 diagnostic code means that the Machine ECM has determined that the current for the solenoid circuit is above normal. When the Implement Lockout Solenoid is de-energized, the Implement Lockout function is ON (implements LOCKED). When the Implement Lockout Solenoid is energized, the Implement Lockout function is OFF (implements UNLOCKED).Conditions that can cause this diagnostic code are listed below:
The energize circuit of the solenoid is shorted to a ground source.
The solenoid has failed.
The Machine ECM has failed. This situation is unlikely. System Response:When this diagnostic code is active, the Machine ECM will be unable to control the Implement Lockout Solenoid. The solenoid will not be energized when required. Pilot hydraulics for implements will not be activated. Implements will not be functional.Before performing this procedure, inspect the harness connectors that are involved in the circuit. Poor connections can often be the cause of a problem in an electrical circuit. Verify that all connections in the circuit are clean, secure and in good condition. If a problem with a connection is found, correct the problem and verify that this diagnostic code is active before performing this procedure. Note: The following test procedure may cause other diagnostic codes to be activated. Ignore these diagnostic codes and verify that these diagnostic codes have been cleared when the original diagnostic code has been cleared.Test Step 1. CHECK THE SOLENOID
Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the ON position. Do not start the engine.
Observe the status of the diagnostic code.
Disconnect the solenoid with the active diagnostic code from the machine harness. Expected Result:The CID 0882 FMI 06 code changes to a CID 0882 FMI 05 code when the solenoid is disconnected.Results:
YES - The CID 0882 FMI 06 code changes to a CID 0882 FMI 05 code when the solenoid is disconnected. The circuit is correct.Repair: The result of this test step indicates that the solenoid is causing the problem. Before replacing the solenoid, verify that the solenoid is defective. Substitute a known good solenoid of the same part number for the suspect solenoid. If the diagnostic code is not active when the substitute solenoid is connected to the machine harness, the original solenoid is defective. Replace the defective solenoid.STOP
NO - The CID 0882 FMI 06 diagnostic code remains active. Disconnecting the solenoid did not affect the status of the diagnostic code. Proceed to Test Step 2.Test Step 2. CHECK THE ENERGIZE CIRCUIT OF THE SOLENOID FOR A SHORT TO GROUNDThe solenoid remains disconnected from the machine harness.
Turn the key start switch and the disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Disconnect the machine harness connectors J1 and J2 from the Machine ECM.
At the Machine ECM machine harness connector J1, measure the resistance from the contact J1-12 (wire M927-GN) to frame ground. Measure the resistance from the signal contact J1-12 (wire M927-GN) to all of the other contacts that are used in the Machine ECM connectors.Expected Result:Each resistance
