A 24 8T-0099 Dowel Extension from top face of the cylinder block is 21.0 0.5 mm (0.83 0.02 inch).
B 12 260-3904 Spacer Plate During assembly, bottom of the plate, top of block, and both sides of plate gasket must be free from of fuel, oil, water, gasket adhesives, assembly compounds or any other contaminates.
Thickness of one spacer plate is 12.313 mm (0.4848 inch).
C 12 144-5692 Plate Gasket Thickness of one gasket between the cylinder block and spacer plates is 0.182 to 0.220 mm (0.0072 to 0.0087 inch).
D 12 197-7008 Dowel Extension from top face of the cylinder block is 21.0 0.5 mm (0.83 0.02 inch).
1 3 4W-4813 Plug Torque to 100 15 N m (74 11 lb ft).
E - - New dimension from centerline of crankshaft bearing bore to the top of the block is 586.00 mm (23.071 inch).
2 7 223-1696 Crankshaft Bearing Cap Width of main bearing (F) is 340.030 0.015 mm (13.3870 0.0006 inch).
Width of cylinder block for main bearing cap is 339.985 0.015 mm (13.3852 0.0006 inch).
Tight press fit between the sides of the main bearing cap and the cylinder block is 0.075 mm (0.0030 inch).
Loose press fit between the sides of the main bearing cap and the cylinder block is 0.015 mm (0.0006 inch).
G - - New dimension from centerline of crankshaft bearing bore to bottom of block (pan rails) is 230 mm (9.1 inch).
3 28 7X-7925 Bolt Use the following procedure in order to tighten the bolts (3):
1. Install main bearing caps with the part number and FRONT toward the front of the block. Each cap has a number. Each cap must be installed in the same position as the correct number on the side of the cylinder block pan rail.
2. Before assembly, apply clean engine oil to the threads of the bolts.
3. Tighten the bolt in the numerical sequence as shown in Illustration 2 to 190 14 N m (140 10 lb ft).
4. Again, tighten the bolt in the numerical sequence as shown in Illustration 2 to an angle of 180 5 degrees.

5 12 352-6061 Liner Seal Before assembly, cover seals with either P-80 Rubber Lubricant Emulsion or liquid soap.
Assemble dry seals on clean and dry liner grooves.
H - - Bore in the block for the camshaft bearings is 98.000 0.020 mm (3.8583 0.0008 inch).
J - - Oil holes must be positioned from horizontal at angle of 20 5 degrees.
All centerlines through oil holes in the camshaft bearings and bearing junctions must be in the position that is shown for each side of the cylinder
