Always road the machine with the boom over the steering axle.When the boom is over the rear axle, the steering and travel pedal functions are reversed and there is no hydraulic retarding.Travel with the boom over the rear axle should be limited to short distances when dozing and low speed range.
Investigate the travel route for overpass clearances. Make sure that there is adequate clearance for the machine.Note: If the machine is equipped with a fixed cab riser or linkage for a material handler, roading the machine will be restricted on public roads. Check with the proper officials for the appropriate regulations in your area.Limitations for ton-kilometer per hour (ton-mile per hour) must be obeyed. Before you road a machine, consult your tire dealer for recommended tire pressures and for speed limitationsNote: Refer to this Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Tire Inflation Information" for additional information.Make sure that all compartments are free from debris and foreign materials.Perform a Walk-Around Inspection and measure the fluid levels in each of the compartments.Disable the automatic engine speed control before machine travel.When you travel for long distances, stop every 40 km (25 mi), or once every hour, for 30 minutes. resting the machine for 30 minutes prevents the tires and machine components from overheating.Travel at a moderate speed. Observe all speed limitations when you road the machine.
Align the boom over the steering axle.
Align the upper structure over the steering axle.
Raise the bucket so that the bucket is 40 cm (15.7 inch) from the ground. Maintain the bucket in this position. Note: If equipped with a grapple, grab the grapple restraint bracket with the grapple in order to prevent movement of the grapple during travel. When not equipped with a grapple restraint bracket, the stick should be out in order to prevent the grapple from swinging into the cab.

Engage the swing lock pin (if equipped).
Raise the stabilizers or the blade (if equipped). Check the position of the stabilizer pads. Install a lock pin in each stabilizer.
If equipped with a blade, raise the blade and install reflectors onto the blade. Note: Make sure that the reflectors are removed before using the blade.
Lift the hydraulic lockout control knob in order
