Reports have been received that 390-1209 Switch and 393-2235 Switch (emergency stop switch) may fail on certain Generator Set Engines that are built in Newberry. The following are some of the causes for the failure of emergency stop switch.

Caterpillar is aware of this problem but a permanent repair has not been defined. As an interim action, replace 390-1209 Switch and 393-2235 Switch with the same part number.Note: Save and return all the failed parts to Caterpillar for analysis.Create a Service Information Management System (SIMS) entry for the failed component to generate a "Send-It-Back" (SIB) request along with any other available information to SIMS.
