Personal injury or death can occur if personnel are trapped between the wheel and the frame.The steering system is hydraulically controlled and wheels can crush personnel during movement.Use caution when working between the wheels and the frame. If the wheels must be turned, ensure that all personnel are clear of the machine before any movement.
Note: Permit only one operator on the machine. Keep all other personnel away from the machine or in the sight of the operator.
Move the machine to a smooth, horizontal location that is away from operating machines and away from personnel.Note: The surface must be solid enough to support the weight of the machine and any tooling that is used to support the machine.
Place the transmission direction in the NEUTRAL position.
Engage the parking brake. Place wheel blocks in front of the wheels and behind the wheels.
Lower the bucket or the work tools to the ground.
Stop the engine.
Install the steering frame lock.
Ensure that the pressure is released from any closed system that will be opened during the maintenance procedure. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "System Pressure Release" for more information.
With the engine keyswitch in the ON position "engine stopped" move the control levers through the full range of travel. Moving the controls in this manner will relieve any pressure that may be present in the implement hydraulic system.
Depress the brake pedal repeatedly. Depressing the brake pedal repeatedly will relieve any pressure that may be present in the brake hydraulic system.
