The boom cylinder pins are lubricated through fittings (1) and (2). Note: Two types of arrangements exist for lubricating the boom cylinder pins. On machines that are equipped with the first type of arrangement, the fitting for lubricating the lower pin is located in the boom cylinder. On machines that are equipped with the second type of arrangement, fitting (1) for lubricating the lower pin is mounted remotely on the left side of the machine. On machines that are equipped with the first type of arrangement, a straight fitting for lubricating the upper pin is located in the boom cylinder. On machines that are equipped with the second type of arrangement, 90° fitting (2) replaces the straight fitting. When you lubricate the first arrangement of fittings the boom must be raised. Before you work under the boom install a suitable stand under the first section of the boom. On machines that are equipped with the second type of arrangement, the pins can be lubricated with the boom in the lowered position.
