Start by:a. remove rotor drive gear reducer 1. Remove twenty bolts (2) from the reducer adapter (1). 2. Attach tool A to the reducer adapter (1).3. Use chains or a sling and a lifting device to remove the reducer adapter. The weight of the adapter (1) is 40 kg (89 lb).4. Using Tool A, slings and a hoist, turn the reducer over and place on a suitable stand or table. The weight of the reducer is 680 kg (1500 lb). A coupling may fall from the input.5. Drain the oil from the gear reducer into a suitable container. If necessary refer to the topic Rotor Drive Gear Reducer, change the oil, in the PM-465 OMM KEBU6879. 6. Remove twenty nine bolts and washers (3).7. Using two people, remove the cover (6) and cover (4) as a unit. The weight of the covers is 65 kg (142 lb).8. Remove the retainer (5). 9. Remove sun gear (7).10. Remove snap ring (8).11. Remove planet gear carrier assembly (9). 12. Use Tool A, chains, and a hoist to remove ring gear (13). The weight of the gear (13) is 360 kg (790 lb).13. Remove snap ring (14).14. Use Tool A, chains, and a hoist to remove the carrier (12). The weight of the carrier is 109 kg (240 lb).15. Remove ring (11) and sun gear (10). 16. Remove shaft (17).17. Remove ring (18).18. Remove fifteen bolts (16) and retainer (15).19. Use a magnet, and remove fifteen pins (19) from the hub. 20. Use Tool A to remove hub (20). The weight of the hub is 23 kg (51 lb). 21. Attach Tool B to outer hub (21). Use chains and a hoist to separate the outer hub (21) from the inner hub (22). It may be necessary to use a soft faced hammer to loosen and separate the inner hub (22). The weight of the hub is 188 kg (414 lb). 22. Use a brass drift to remove two bearing cups (23) from the outer hub (21).
Bearing cups (23) may be damaged if removed from hub (21).
23. Remove Duo-Cone seal (24) from the outer hub (21) and the inner hub (22) (not shown). 24. Remove lip seal (25).25. Remove bearing cone (26) from the inner hub (22). It may be necessary to use a brass drift or a press to remove the bearing cone (26). The weight of the inner hub (22) is 100 kg (220 lb). The following steps are for the disassembly of the carriers (9) and (12).26. Remove two bolts (31)
