1. Remove the bolts that hold elbow (1) to the pump.2. Remove the bolts that hold suction bell assembly (3) to the oil pan plate.3. Remove bolts (2) that hold oil pump to the cylinder block. Remove oil pump. Weight of the oil pump is 35 lb. (16 kg).Install Oil Pump
1. Put the oil pump into position on the cylinder block. Install the bolts and locks.2. Install the suction bell assembly.3. Install the bolts that hold elbow to pump.end by: a) install oil panDisassemble Oil Pump
start by: a) remove oil pump 1. Remove idler gear (1).2. Use tool setup (A) to remove bearing (2) from the idler gear.3. Remove suction bell assembly (3). 4. Remove the cotter pin, washer, and nut that hold the drive gear to the pump. Use tool setup (C) to remove the pump drive gear from the shaft. Remove woodruff key from shaft.5. Remove the cover plate (4), spring, and plunger for the bypass valve of the oil pump.6. Remove the pump body assembly (5). 7. Remove the oil pump gears (6).8. Remove spacer (7).9. Remove the two shaft and gear assemblies (8). 10. Use tool setup (B) to remove the bearings from the two pump body assemblies.Assemble Oil Pump
1. Use tool setup (B) to install the bearings in the two body assemblies.2. Put clean engine oil on the shaft and gear assemblies, and install them in body assembly. 3. Install the spacer.4. Put clean engine oil on oil pump gears. Install the woodruff keys in the shaft and gear assemblies. Install the oil pump gears. 5. Install the oil pump body assembly (1). 6. Install the bypass valve plunger (2) and spring (3) in body assembly. Install the cover plate.7. Put the drive gear for pump into position on the shaft. Install fastening nut and washer. Tighten the nut to 60 lb.ft. (8,2 mkg) plus amount needed to put shaft and nut into alignment for cotter pin. Install cotter pin.8. Install the suction bell assembly. 9. Use tool setup (A) to install the bearing in idler gear for pump. Install the idler gear on the oil pump.end by: a) install oil pump
