Start By:
Remove the fan. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fan - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Personal injury can result from hot coolant, steam and alkali.At operating temperature, engine coolant is hot and under pressure. The radiator and all lines to heaters or the engine contain hot coolant or steam. Any contact can cause severe burns.Remove filler cap slowly to relieve pressure only when engine is stopped and radiator cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.Cooling System Conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
The engine can start automatically. Ensure that the power supply is isolated before any service or repairs is performed.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.
If the engine is equipped with an air starting motor. Turn the air supply at the air reservoir to the OFF position. Ensure that the air pressure is drained from the starting air system.

Loosen hose clamps (7) and hose clamps (9) remove tube assembly (8) from radiator (6) and the waster pump.
Loosen the hose clamp on hose assembly (2) and disconnect from radiator (6).
Remove the nuts and bolts (1) from brace beam (3). Remove the nut and bolt (5) and washer (4). Support the brace beam as the bolt and the washer are removed.
Remove brace beam (3) from the radiator (6) and the lifting bracket.

Loosen hose clamp (11) and hose clamp (13). Remove tube assembly (12) from radiator (6) and tube assembly (10).
Loosen hose clamp (15) and hose clamp (17). Remove tube assembly (16) from radiator (6) and tube assembly (14).

Attach suitable lifting device to radiator assembly (6) in Position (X). The weight of the radiator assembly is approximately 125 kg (276 lb).
Remove the nuts and bolts (19) from radiator (6).
Use the suitable lifting device in order to remove radiator (6) from frame (18).
If necessary, disassemble radiator (6). Refer to Disassemble and Assembly, "Radiator - Disassemble" and Disassemble and Assembly, "Radiator - Assemble" for the correct procedure. Installation Procedure
Ensure that radiator is free from wear, damage, and free from restriction. Ensure that all the tube assemblies are free from wear, damage, and free from restriction.

If necessary, assemble radiator (6). Refer to Disassemble and Assembly, "Radiator - Disassemble" and Disassemble and Assembly, "Radiator - Assemble" for the correct procedure.
Attach suitable lifting device to radiator assembly (6) in Position (X). The weight of the radiator assembly is approximately 125 kg (276 lb).
Use the suitable lifting device in order to install radiator (6) onto frame (18).
